What is the recommended output rate for sending N2K variables to a Garmin display? Would every 1 cycle be appropriate? Does 100 cycles correspond to a 10 Hz update rate? The GNX 120 updates at 5 Hz.

The output rate is determined by the "Time" parameter of the Nmea2000 stream.
In FaRo, the base unit for the time variable is one millisecond. When the parameter "Time" is set at 200, it means that the stream is sent at 5 Hz.
Every PGN can be sent at a different rate, using the parameter "Cycle" in the PGN settings.
If you send every "1 Cycle", it means that the PGN is sent at the same rate of the Nmea2000 stream.
If you send every "2 Cycles", the PGN is sent at half the rate of the Nmea2000 stream.
Be careful, if you don't specify the Cycle parameter, the PGN is not sent.

Said so, there is no a "recommended" rate for Garmin and B&G displays.
Our suggestion is to start with Time=200 and to send the most valuable information every cycle, unless the Nmea2000 network experiences some bandwidth issue
