Re: Tools
Yes, when it comes to wiring Beckhoff/FaRo modules, we recommend:
- Crimping ferrules on all wires
Using insertion and extraction tools that are the correct size — not too large and not too small. A good example of a suitable tool is the Wago 210-722

EXP V 12.4.13
They reported to us that Expedition is not exchanging variables with FaRo starting from V 12.4.13. This is related to an unresolved Windows bug when FaroManager is loading the library ExpDll.dll. To overcome the issue, just copy the file libcrypto-3-x64.dll (from the Expedition folder) in the ...

Re: LEEWAY, CSE and EXP
Signs convention in Faro are from the old convention, where every variable is positive on starboard when acting "as expected": heeling and leeway on leeward, rudder and Tab (if present) with trailing edge on leeward. This convention was used by Okkam, B&G and Racing Bravo. Unfortunately, this ...

Re: 2 x N2K & Garmin variables
The variables need to be different.
If you create them using FaroManager, there is no possibility to make a mistake.
If you decide to create them editing the faro.xml file, you need to make sure to assign the variable to the proper network

The damping on Hdg depends on the compass used. A Fibre Optic gyro compass or a dual antenna GPS compass don't need any damping. A AHRS compass might need some filter, although usually it can be set also internally at the compasss. For TWD, we recommend to use a dynamic exponential filter and the ...

Re: nmea2000 Garmin VARS
The output rate is determined by the "Time" parameter of the Nmea2000 stream. In FaRo, the base unit for the time variable is one millisecond. When the parameter "Time" is set at 200, it means that the stream is sent at 5 Hz. Every PGN can be sent at a different rate, using the parameter "Cycle" in ...
